The Deep Cleaning and Organizing Checklist: Your Path to a Pristine Home

Before You Start
  1. Declutter First: 

    Remove all unnecessary items from surfaces and rooms to provide clear access. 

     
  2. Gather Supplies: 

    Collect necessary cleaning supplies like disinfectants, glass cleaner, and rags. 

     
  3. Ventilate: 

    Open windows to ensure proper airflow, especially when using cleaning products.

     

General Deep Cleaning Tasks
  • Ceilings: Dust and clean ceiling fans, and wipe down light fixtures and light shades. 
     
  • Walls: Wipe down walls, and clean door frames and baseboards. 
     
  • Windows: Clean windows, window sills, and blinds. 
     
  • Furniture & Surfaces: Dust and clean all surfaces and furniture. Wipe down chair and table legs. 
     
  • Floors: Vacuum, sweep, and mop all floors, and clean behind and under furniture. 
     
  • Doors & Fixtures: Clean doors, door handles, and light switches. 
     
  • Trash: Empty all trash and waste baskets. 
     
  • Vents & Filters: Clean air conditioner vents and check/replace the air filter. 
     
  • Kitchen: Clean the interior of cabinets, drawers, and the refrigerator.
  • Bedrooms: Remove bedding, wash sheets and blankets, and flip the mattress.

     

  • Closets: Dust and clean all closet shelves and organize items. 
     
After Cleaning 
 
  • Safety Check: Test smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to ensure they are working.
  • Replace Bulbs: Replace any dead lightbulbs as needed.
  • Freshen Drains: Unblock and freshen drains.
